Optimal design of trigeneration systems for buildings considering cooperative game theory for allocating production cost to energy services

In the design of trigeneration plants for buildings, two fundamental issues must be addressed: synthesis plant configuration (installed technologies and capacity, etc.) operational planning. Given variety technology options available great diurnal annual fluctuations in energy demands, finding optimal supply system services is a complex task. Cost allocation multi-product systems requires special attention because way which made will affect prices final products and, consequently, consumers' behaviour. When polygeneration designed to serve different products, it possible achieve lower total cost. However, if potential consumers are free participate, system's management should ensure that every participant shares benefit joint production. this implies all achieve, at least, cost their demanded than operating separately. The present work proposes Mixed Integer Linear Programming model determine cover demands electricity, heating cooling residential located Zaragoza, Spain. considers possibility using set proposed alternative within superstructure operation throughout typical meteorological year. objective function minimized results indicate compared standing alone, can 10.6% saving. Ten assessment methods three analyzed rigorously compared. Cooperative game theory shows benefit. Using Shapley values as distribution criterion, savings 4.8%, 20.9% 11.1%, respectively.
